I Launched a New Blog!

I have created a new blog dedicated to partially lost media from a TV documentary series called Beyond Bizarre. It aired on the Discovery Channel around 1997 but has since been in syndication for a few more years until it just...didn't. This was a documentary tv show that contained various eerie, morbid or otherwise peculiar oddities in the modern world. Hosted by Jay Robinson. It's currently partially lost media as this show was rather obscure as heck and while some episodes and clips have resurfaced over the years, this show was rarely talked about in today's day and age of social media. Even YouTube channels that specialize or have commentary videos on more older shows haven't seem to have mentioned this show. Not like this show is bad, I rarely saw a bad comment concerning this show.

Anyway, for any interested, head on over to my blog dedicating to finding the remaining lost episodes blog link here. Blog is extremely new and I'm working at a snail's pace at the moment (as I have a million blogs) but I absolutely hope that this blog gains some traction for those interested. I already have a few posts I am working on.

Yeah I know this picture is shitty and pixelated. Sorry about that.

Music Rolloutz

The day has come. I have finally finished recapping Paper Girls which unfortunately did not get renewed by Amazon. So rage inducing! Oh well. I follow all 4 actresses on Instagram and so do all have their own projects going on. It's awesome how they are all constantly interacting with each others' posts on top of their heartfelt posts breaking the news of the cancellation. All 4 are very great and talented women, I totally hope I see them in more shows or movies in the coming months and years.

In other news, I barely realized that Diablero has a different outro song with each episode so I spent the last hour Shazam-ing and linking the youtube videos to update each post along with fixing formatting errors. Every time I add a picture, it adds an extra line and sometimes, especially when I first started recapping posts, I didn't care to fix  it. But now, it is REALLY getting on my nerves so I went through all the posts and fixed that error.

I also came across a very interesting new show on Amazon called The Killing Vote. It's a South Korean show seems like a twist of The Purge and Circle (god awful movie on Netflix). I am honestly hyped for it. Looks like only 1 episode is getting released each week rather than dumping the whole show at the same time like Amazon usually does. I'll check out the show later this week and see if this is what I want to add on my TV queue recaps.

I've also been browsing Viki Rakuten (a free app for asian tv show) and I've taken the liberty if extensively browsing the catalogue and putting a handful of interesting Thai and South Korean shows that pique my interest that would be perfect for this blog and hopefully promote more people to checking all these underrated shows out.

I also did the same for Vix, which is a spanish app of the same thing. This one is a free subscription and I have a few months left to use it before I lose it.

Movie Blog Hiatus

The brief notice was posted on my blog that I am putting my movie blog on a temporary hiatus but if you want a slightly longer explanation, well here it is:

I am 100% NOT abandoning this blog. I really do love my blog because afterall, it was on its way to 20k views! Not a big number in the long run but I don't actively go out of my way to promote my blog a lot these days so it was cool to see organic views.

The main reason is that I would like to perfect my painting skills. Recent hobby that I want to spend a whole lot more time on since I find it pretty therapeutic. I've been sitting on my free Craftsy 1 year membership for 5 months now so I want to stop fucking around so I can take advantage of the remaining 7 months left. That's where I go for my paint tutorials. Also where I learned to crochet. Youtube tutorials are like soo limiting. I thought it might be a great Christmas gift idea for family this upcoming holiday. That's not the only reason.

Also, horror movies. Need I say more?

While I don't get scared or traumatized in the traditional sense, I fear that it may have had a hand in me repressing PTSD adjacent memories that got unearthed while watching certain movies. That affects my quality of life, man! I definitely need to get to the root of that issue before I descend further into madness. Now, I'm being steered in the direction of meditation and yoga...taking it a little bit more seriously to alleviate those stressors.

This also means my 31 Movies in 31 Days in October is cancelled. I might even go back and edit/delete some posts, actually.

My TV blog will continue as scheduled because first off, it's easy. Secondly I currently have 30+ posts already finished and waiting to be posted. I'm sure I'll be back in tip top shape before then. Plus, it's not as soul sucking as the movies I am curating.

That's all. I tried to make this post short but it's...kind of not. I'll post on this blog periodically for updates on both blogs. Thank you for reading,

South Korean Netflix Originals At Risk For Getting Removed?

Not the shocker but Netflix is shit. They keep finding more and more ways to take their shittiness to the next level. News is breaking out that Netflix is not paying South Korean actors properly. That is technically an understatement. They are literally not paying any of the South Korean actors part of Netflix original series/movies much of anything!!! That includes actors in Squid Game, which has accumulated to over a BILLION viewed hours!! That shit was everywhere for a while! They are literally being paid nickels at this point which is fucking insane.

Why are evil corporations so...evil? How hard is it to pay actors what they rightfully earned? I hope each and every one of the actors who got low balled get every cent owed AND MORE from Netflix. Banning password sharing and now this? I am pretty sure there's other controversies surround them but whatever.

I fear that this might lead to South Korean originals to be removed from Netflix. It happened with Disney Plus recently with a purge of their own and I hope Netflix doesn't follow in their steps. All corporations are evil, anyway.

The reason for this post is that it may affect how I go forward with my TV blog. I might have to focus on more of that content just in case.

Concluded Shows: Diablero +blog updates

I created a 1st generation favitar for my TV blog! Looks so mediocre but it's a placement holder until I can get my creative juices flowing and create a much better one. So from this point forward when you visit my blog, you (hopefully) won't see the Blogger logo anymore! This current one is literally clipart layered on top of another. I was not born to be a creative mind when it comes to logos but I will keep dabbling in other ideas for a proper logo for my blogs.

The season 1 finale got posted today so that means that it has officially been moved to Concluded Shows. There is a 2nd season that I already started recapping but I think I will take a break from posting that show. At least until I am done recapping that season. I read up that Netflix cancelled Diablero so that means no season 3 😭 All the good shows gets cancelled what a shame. It's a great show and the cast is amazing. Oh well. I am still in the zone for learning Spanish so I am going to look for more shows in that language so I might just end up continuing to resume my recaps for Diablero in the meantime.

In other news, I did a random audit on some posts and fixed up formatting errors and episode linking for Tales from the Crypt and the only post of Black Mirror. So many errors I fixed 😱 but it's better looking. It's so hard being one person doing all this shit. Still making my way to do others.

As far as my Indian subtitle journey: I came across Descript which is a desktop application where I can transcript anything I want in English. I originally did this for my Beyond Bizarre transcripts in which I currently have the free version and can only do 1 hours worth of transcripts per month.

On Descript's website, they are in Beta mode for a Hindi language!! I am pretty excited for that! I do worry because in my Beyond Bizarre transcripts, I was still required to proof read everything and I still spotted errors that I had to manually correct (names and incorrect words plus formatting). I know that won't be a possibility for me to correct any mistakes in Hindi when I transcript Woh because I simply don't know that language at all. My current method is to get the Hindi transcript (eventually) from Descript and then translate to English from various websites. Many are free to translate as long as I do small snippets at a time. That's where I am at in my Woh (is me) debacle. Once they launch the Hindi language, I will totally subscribe.

I also reached another milestone. As of yesterday, I officially finished all my posts for the next 2 months for my TV blog. Since I did all the From recaps and have them scheduled to Monday's in October, I only have to worry about recapping 26 in order to be comletely caught up. Will take a break from TV recaps for a few weeks to focus on my Movie blog.

Speaking of which, I am super slow to do on my Movie blog and it totally shouldn't be! I just watch a movie and write a post. TV blogs I simply do a play by play of events. You would think TV would be more cumbersome.

I'll be honest here, I am struggling with my Movie blog. I don't even have posts completed for the last 2 weeks of this month alone. In my TV blog, I currently have 38 completed scheduled posts. My Move blog? 2. Literally 2. I wrote 8 total posts but they need pictures and links attached. Only 2 are fully completed and good to go. I think I am going to spend the rest of this month watching movies.

Taking a look with only 60ish days left to go, if I watch at least 3-5 movies and week, I'll make my goal to have all 31 movies for October. It's my fault I procrastinated so much and focused too much on TV recaps.

Once again, I do all of this in my free time as a stay at home spouse. I spend my mornings and afternoons doing this until my spouse comes home. He doesn't even know I have this blog because I simply never told him. He bitches about everything so it's best for me to keep my mouth shut. I also don't do weekends either. Unless he is out of town which happens every few months so it's nice to have the house all to myself when I do. I don't always focus on these blogs every day, if that's what you're thinking. If that were the case, I would have been done with these posts long ago.
